Valentine’s Day with Friends

First of all, let me set a disclaimer: If you celebrate Valentine’s Day, BEAUTIFUL! If you do not, BEAUTIFUL all the same.

This blog is not for the couples, but the singles. THAT’S RIGHT, my single Ladies!

I think it is important to spend time with your friends, even on this day! Dress up and go on a fancy dinner date, plan a spa party, a pink&red pajama night or a day of shopping. I mean, because why not? It’s simply just another reason to get together and do something memorable! Even going on a quick day trip just because you love being around each other. GIRLMANCE!

I honestly wish I spent this holiday a little different when I was single with my friends. Like chasing men is for the birds! Ok? And of course, my friends and I still have girl outings and things even now that I’m married; not a problem. I think it is important to have healthy friendships even when you are married. I just want to encourage you, motivate you, stress to you to spend more time with your friends.

Things change, and they may change QUICK. Take advantage of this time to really invest in good friendships. Learn to forgive. Learn when to let go and when to hold on. Learn to love over all. Friends are a gift.

Whatever It Takes…

I believe that there comes a time in life where you must make some very sensitive decisions.  It will come at the most unexpected and unwanted moments.  It will make you so uncomfortable to the point of second guessing.  It will test every bit of YOU to the point where you will just sit there in those quietly screaming tears, and be like, “Ok, God.  I’m here”

It will take every bit of you not to shout out the protests of discomfort from the pressure that has been bullying you.  You will sit there like a child whom has lost their voice, no longer a thing of stage fright but more so “I’ve lost the script”

And at this moment, you are most vulnerable, and you will say   “Whatever it takes”

Pray and do not stop seeking God.  Just like those same unexpected times, He will reveal to you the secrets of your heart.   He knows how to grab your attention.  He knows you and He KNEW you.

So, speak up and be still.  Take a stand and kneel.  He is for you and not against.  He is and always will be.

The Helper

I am sure by now we have all heard about this thing called the Enneagram Test. It is basically a test to that uses a series of questions to determine your personality. It was introduced to me a couple of times. I did not really give it a chance until my sister told me to take it.

Well, as you can see from my heading, I scored a TWO; the Helper.

Twos are empathetic, sincere, and warm-hearted. They are friendly, generous, and self-sacrificing, but can also be sentimental, flattering, and people-pleasing. They are well-meaning and driven to be close to others, but can slip into doing things for others in order to be needed. They typically have problems with possessiveness and with acknowledging their own needs. At their Best: unselfish and altruistic, they have unconditional love for others.

Oddly, I was in shock at how well it READ me! Not surprised by the results necessarily, even though I wanted to take it again just to be sure, but it showed me interesting things about myself.  And of course I forced my friends to take and they were equally in shock.

Y’all….I am a Social Worker wanting to start a non-profit. Whhaaattttt.

Anyway, I hope you give it a try too!
